End of Day Walks

Lately my apartment has been so hot I have been going on walks around 8pm to cool off. It’s such a pretty time to stroll through my neighborhood in Queen Anne listening to music, or podcasts, or just the sounds of the town. There are also some absolutely beautiful homes in Queen Anne, and the flowers right now are out of this world! Roses, jasmine, hydrangea… they are in full bloom and smell wonderful. These walks are also a great time for me to quiet my mind, get rid of the stress of the day and think about things in my life I’m grateful for. I don’t touch social media, don’t text and don’t think about the next day and everything I have to do. I just walk, take in the beauty of small Seattle neighborhoods and slow down my mind. It’s something I wish I could do year round, but I am taking full advantage of it now! It also leads to a great night’s sleep, especially if I follow these walks with a cool shower, good book and early bedtime.

I hope you are all enjoying the summer!
