Lilacs in Bloom

Lilac may be one of the most intoxicating smells out there. I can’t help but stop while walking past to take a deep breath of their floral scent and gaze at their many beautiful purple shades. I used to cut lilacs from our backyard tree in the spring and give them to teachers during my last week of school, so they remind me of those first exciting days of summer. If you are planting lilacs, they need full sunlight and should be pruned immediately after they flower in the spring.

Here is a delicious link to a lilac blossom ice cream recipe!
