Spring Markets

One of my favorite weekend activities in the spring is going to brunch followed by visiting the Ballard Farmer’s Market. I try to get a group of girlfriends together to meet at Portage Bay Cafe, where we drink mimosas and eat their amazing french toast loaded with berries, whipped cream and syrup. And a side of bacon to dip into the syrup. Then we migrate over to the Ballard market, where there is an explosion of color and smells. Being in Seattle there are always a ton of happy, curious dogs filling the street. My favorite vendors to visit are the ones that sell eggs, flowers, smoked salmon, caramels, cheese and freshly baked bread. I almost always take home a humongous bouquet of flowers for $5-$10, along with veggies for dinner and a truffle cheese spread. Its always nice to smile and talk to locals, taken all of the beautiful food and products and spend the morning walking off a delicious breakfast. Sundays at the market are the best :)
